- Everyone shared something they put in their 'L' column

- 1950s Formative Quiz- need to make this up if you missed it!
- Group Activity- Truman and Eisenhower: Broke into 6 groups representing either Truman or Eisenhower. Using pages 680-86, created a list of accomplishments, issues, etc. that each faced as president. Then found a partner who had the other president. Created a Venn Diagram comparing the 2 presidents (this is #6 on your C level tasks, just need to do the paragraph yourself).

November 30th/December 1st
- Presented Rock-n-roll research
- Finished PowerPoint on American Culture in the 1950s- see blog posting for Nov. 15/16th for the link to the notes

- Watched an episode of I Love Lucy and Leave it to Beaver.
- While watching each episode, looked for examples of values held by people in the 50s; role of women, children, etc.
- Discussed each show individually- this will help you complete #12 on your C level tasks.
- Spent the rest of the period working on C level tasks and completing oral defenses.
November 17th/November 18th
- Went to the library to research the following:
- The history of rock-n-roll- why was it seen as a form of rebellion
- Assigned 50s musician/group- who were they, what was their contribution to rock-n-roll, popular songs.
- Prepare a 1-2 minute presentation- either a poster of PowerPoint. Need to have a clip of one of their songs.
- Worked the rest of the period on C level tasks and completed oral defenses.

- Discussed Life magazine photos- what did they tell you about life in the 1950s
- Notes- 1950s Culture- if you take cornell notes on this lecture you can use it as one of your C levels (replaces cornell notes on chapter 20). We didn't finish it today, we'll finish it when we come back from Thanksgiving
- Worked on C level tasks and did oral defenses

November 10th/November 12th
- Life Magazine photo analysis- we went to the library and looked at Life magazines from the 1950s. Then everyone picked a picture and completed the Photo Analysis worksheet.
- The remainder of time was spent on completing Cold War assignments or getting started on 1950s tasks.
The end of the 6 weeks is quickly approaching! All missing work is due by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, November 19th.
Parent conferences are Tuesday, November 23rd from 12-3 and 5-8. Students can earn extra credit if parents attend conferences (more if students come with the parents). Parents- please contact me if you would like to set up a specific time.
