  1. Matched leaders from Chapter 21 Section 1 to description of significance.
  2. Watched Mighty Times: The Legacy of Rosa Parks- could take cornell notes on the video for a C level.
  3. Worked on C levels and completed oral defenses.

  1. School District Climate Survey- nothing to make up with this
  2. Activity- Demands for Civil Rights: working in a group, came up with two truths and a lie about the different sections in Chapter 21 Section 1. Then did a "gallery walk" identifying the lies.
  3. Worked on C level tasks and completed oral defenses

  1. KWL Chart- The Civil Rights Movement
  2. Video- A Time for Justice, completed the 'L' column on the KWL chart while watching the video
  3. Everyone shared something they put in their 'L' column
  4. Handed out Civil Rights Movement layered unit packet, briefly went over tasks and due dates.

  1. 1950s Writing Prompt- discussed what the question was asking and completed the graphic organizer (you can use this on the test)
  2. Reviewed for the test- gave out study guide

December 2nd/December 3rd

  1. 1950s Formative Quiz- need to make this up if you missed it!
  2. Group Activity- Truman and Eisenhower: Broke into 6 groups representing either Truman or Eisenhower. Using pages 680-86, created a list of accomplishments, issues, etc. that each faced as president. Then found a partner who had the other president. Created a Venn Diagram comparing the 2 presidents (this is #6 on your C level tasks, just need to do the paragraph yourself).
  3. Worked on C level tasks and completed oral defenses

November 30th/December 1st

  1. Presented Rock-n-roll research
  2. Finished PowerPoint on American Culture in the 1950s- see blog posting for Nov. 15/16th for the link to the notes
